WK360 Latest to Install GW Guillotine from DPM

Commenting on the need for new cutting equipment, Amanda Gatward, Commercial Director at WK360, said: "Like many printers, we rarely view a guillotine as a critical, money making piece of equipment, but in fact it's hard to produce fast turnaround printed product without one! Our existing ageing guillotine was causing some safety concerns when it came to blade change time, and it was therefore necessary to replace the product. The GW guillotine has been excellent, and the programmable element of the product has made cutting jobs fast and highly accurate."

The GW K115CL guillotine offers a 115cm cutting width, essential at WK360 as its two Xeikon presses allow for large digital job production, having the capability of producing work up to virtually any length. "We needed a 115cm guillotine in order to cope with the size of jobs that we regularly produce on our Xeikon digital presses," confirmed Amanda Gatward. "The run lengths on a number of our digitally printed jobs have also increased recently, and therefore the installation of the new GW guillotine was very timely."

WK360 had typically been used to production runs in the low hundreds, but recent demands from a number of major customers have regularly moved into the thousands of copies. "We have produced a number of variable data runs in excess of 5,000 recently, and that is great news for us," added Amanda.
